so, this is a retcon of the Kup thing

it was like "i will speak through him" "and that's why people will listen" like he was programmed to say Prowl's stuff but here it's like straight up possession and it's incredibly obvious it's a waste of a war crime

Prowl gives an explanation for the whole Kup thing I explained in my post and also about Kup being stuck in the dead universe for millions of years so I guess in the end I could have just posted those screenshots instead of typing up that summary lol

this is incredibly stupid the one thing might be that it's drawn like this because it's meant to convey it to the reader but like, that feels so pointless? you could just have kup talking weirdly but even so it's a retcon! the original idea was still kinda stupid but it still made some basic sense if prowl is just assuming direct control then it's EXTREMELY OBVIOUS

Prowl starts warning them about the Noisemaze but then he screams and gets cut off

there is an argument about command never being held accountable but it would be a lot more valid if it wasn't coming from a guy who is fresh off committing a war crime

we already confirmed Prowl isn't incriminated by the data because he was never charged with a war crime...he just doesn't want everything getting out

also like, Impactor got put in Garrus-9 Impactor was very much in command he wasn't on high command true but it's not like they just went after grunts

mix of quotes from me and friend: yeah like, part of what makes it so ridiculous is that prowl is treated as some magical exception when literally all the autobots are like that all the time even blurr deep in peace time was just like, time to beat up some guards lol (during the velocitron race) it seems like prowl is supposed to be representing like, the people pushing war forward at a level of remove but that does not jive at all with him being personally involved to such a degree or his own lack of power and experiences the proper position for that kind of character would be a neutral, or maybe even a human arguably second in command of the whole damn army is a totally different thing he is also someone who was actively on the front line we don't really see him commanding stuff from a distance much the only case we do is in LSOTW when he's stuck on earth but in every flashback he's in that takes place during the war, he's on the battlefield it's very "make up a guy to be mad at"

it's trying to fit a square character in a round story i mean even optimus is still leading from the front whether that's a good idea or not is up for debate (it's not a good idea) (it's not a good idea to have your SIC leading from the front either, tbh)

this is like, he's trying to tell a story that doesn't really make sense in this continuity like if you take it as a thing by itself, maybe it works but even then, even if you only include roche's writing i still think it doesn't entirely work?

the plot looks at Prowl all 'how dare you be an authority figure doing exactly what your job expects you to do' as opposed to the other authority figures who're getting people killed, and the subordinates also getting people killed

Kup:…sure "are you able for this" is a bit of an odd turn of phrase i've spotted a few of those and I wonder if they're Irishisms

that's all your reaction is???? it's just the "eh" ness this is treated with that is bothering me maybe that's the point, that they've become completely inured to this kind of thing but still cannibalism should merit more than an under the breath "yikes"
